lldpe树脂的特性一般体现在熔融和密度。熔融可映出树脂的平均量且主要受应温度控制。平均量与量分布(mwd)无关。催化剂选择影响mwd。密度由共聚用单体在聚链中的浓度决定。共聚用单体浓度控制短支链数目(其长度取决于共聚用单体类型)从而控制树脂密度。共聚用单体浓度越高,树脂密度越低。在结构上,lldpe在支链的数目和类型上与ldpe不同,高压ldpe有长支链,而线性ldpe只具有短支链。在结构上,lldpe只在短支链数目上与hdpe不同。hdpe的短支链数目较少,因此,是有更高密度的材料。lldpe的物理特性受控于它的量,mwd和密度。lldpe优于ldpe,归根结底取决其用途。通常,在所有应用中用lldpe生产刚性的产品,虽然根据at对低密度材料,lldpe和ldpe的密度都在0.91-0.925之间。lldpe形成更高结晶结构,因为不存在长支链。lldpe较大的结晶性产生较高刚性的产品。这种较高的结晶度也使lldpe与ldpe相比,熔点了10~15℃。
